Moonstone

They did it, they finally >BEEEP< did it !!!!

They won the MULIK Talent Show 2001. Finally someone rewarded them for their hard work and patience.

Moonstone is partly responsible/to blame for my sudden interest in the yub'ies (Young Up-coming Bands), as some of them were founder members of the semi-successfull lobby club "MHGTLAGUAGA5" (Martin Has Got To Listen And Get Us A Gig At 5-øren) at the youth school.

They have worked hard the last couple of years, some of them being part of Fodnote, the organizer of the Footstock Festival for amateur bands, and have taken part in Østkyst Rock since the beginning in 1999, when they were third.

In 2000 they'd added a second guitarist Rune, and finished the year with their enclosure on the CD Køge Bands 2000, a CD featuring various local bands.

2001 has been a busy year. In January 2001 all the bands featured on the CD, played at two concerts at the local theatre, and in June 2001, most of the bands, incl. Moonstone, took part in a repeat performance of the Køge Bands 2000 concerts. During the spring, they've been support band to Dear at Teaterbygningen in Køge, taken part in the third Østkyst Rock and played at Roskilde Rock at Gimle in Roskilde. At Østkyst Rock they did a show that almost made you cry from happiness. I knew they were good, but this was ........ WOW :-).

At the first Køge Bands show, they released their first CD, which was sold out within seconds !!!

Spring 2002 has been a little quiet for them, but they played at the former Rock Ama'r (Forgot the new name, sorry !) in Copenhagen on May 30th, and showed they're not growing old and tired :-). Well, "oldish" perhaps, because in September they played in Pumpehuset in Copenhagen and had changed to a more mature sound with some new really good songs.

After a very quiet 2003, spent in the practice room, and probably studying once in a while ;-), they're back, bigger, even better and slightly older. In Copenhagen in March 2004 they, as other old bands, went slightly back to their roots, when they took part in the first round of the Emergenza Festival. They will be in the semifinals in Lille Vega in April.

As you'll notice, they've added a keyboard-player, Rasmus. He's so cool that he can play with one hand in his pocket, and still follow the rest of the band. Not bad ;-)

Beside this, they are all very nice people, but then they know I've got some pictures of them, from when they were slightly younger !!!

'nuff said. Go and see them and their "dates" (!!!) at their own web-site or visit their bass-player Carsten.
