The first time I noticed the name was at Thruxton in 1989. I was there with one of my friends Michael Sorensen, and partly because he is married to a Scot, we decided to cheer for David. Of course he won the race.
We joined the David Coulthard Supporters Club when it was started, and discovered that next to being an excellent driver, he is a very nice person. We met him at Silverstone during the Black Weekend in May 1994, and he had the sad task of telling us about Ayrton Sennas accident. A few weeks later he was driving Sennas car. Motorsport can be very tough.
