Yet another great idea by the hardworking people at Bar' Blues, starting the Christmas madness with a bit of peace and love, and I'm told it may be a monthly feature on their program :-)
The first time I heard of Esben Just, he was behind the keyboards in the Danish band Backseat Boys (No, they're not even close to being related to the Orlando Boys !!!). He later left them, and seems to have been "around" at the Danish blues-clubs and venues ever since.
He formed the band SP-Just-Frost with, well, SP and Frost !! - They've so far, if I can still count (Please prove me wrong, and let me know there are more !!), recorded 5 albums, playing a happy mixture of blues, jazz, funk and probably at lot of other things. I'm no expert at genres, so don't shout at me if I got it wrong !! - Buy the albums instead, and have a great evening. For more info about them, try this
At Bar' Blues, instead of SP and Frost, he brought "The Gospel Mamas", and trust me, after 2 hours of Gospel, peace and love, everyone present were very happy and ready for the Christmas rush. Even the small kids loved being there with their parents.
At the 2004 Copenhagen Blues Festival, he did a concert with Mike Andersen and Rune Olesen at Mojo.
